Double sprung or Architectural quality basically means heavy duty. You would select this standard of lock or latch for ‘un-sprung’ furniture or doors that are in constant use. Perhaps in a commercial type environment

You would generally select this style of latch if you required a stronger mechanism than that of a tubular latch. Perhaps for doors that are in constant use or even subject to abuse.
